NYC Ballet unhappy with conditions of venue after Phish concert

SARATOGA, N.Y. -

New York ballet fans are unhappy with the condition of amphitheater lawns following Phish's three-day concert at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

The New York City Ballet's one week summer residency began Tuesday, three days after the Vermont-born band wrapped up its stint there.

Heavy rain preceded the band's opening performance, and by the time the last show ended Saturday, SPAC's sloping lawn was mostly down to bare dirt.

Ballet fans say SPAC shouldn't schedule rock concerts just before the ballet arrives.
