Shooting in St. Johnsbury

   In St. Johnsbury, two people are shot, and now one is dead and the other is injured.

   Police say late Friday afternoon they received a call for a self inflicted gun shot wound at 34 Cottage St. in Saint Johnsbury. When they arrived, they found the woman alive, but badly injured.

  "Officers got dispatched to a report of shots being fired, somebody having a self-inflicted gun shot wound.  Officers got on scene and found a conscious female with a gun shot wound and found a deceased male in the residence with a gun shot wound.," says Chief Clem Houde of the St. Johnsbury Police Department.

   The woman was taken to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury. Police would not confirm the identities of the two involved but say they did live at the house. While we were there family of the woman did arrive looking for answers. State police have stepped in to help with the investigation which will continue Friday night.

    UPDATE: Police say the victim who died is 78-year-old Harold Willey, and the woman injured is 50-year-old Karen Willey.
