Burlington man shot during struggle for gun

Burlington police say a man was shot in the chest during a struggle over a gun. 

Officers say Matthew Carr, 50, of Burlington was shot once in the chest. At this point police say it appears it was self- inflicted. Police say there was some sort of struggle between Carr and his 80-year-old father, Thomas Carr, at a house on Loaldo Drive. 

The younger Carr was taken to Fletcher Allen Health Care and is expected to recover.

Police say they're still investigating the nature of the struggle and the intent of the people involved. At this point no word of any arrests.
