BURLINGTON, Vt. - Police say a Burlington man will face charges in connection with a disturbance where he shot himself.

Matthew Carr, 50, was cited for aggravated domestic assault and reckless endangerment.

Investigators say Carr was in a home on Loaldo Drive Monday night, when he armed himself with a loaded gun and threatened someone. The disturbance became physical when the victim tried to disarm Carr. Police say Carr pushed the victim through a glass door and then shot himself in the chest.

Carr is still in the hospital.

He's scheduled to be in court next week.
