ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Federal campaign finance records show incumbent Republican Rep. Chris Gibson and Democratic challenger Sean Eldridge with roughly equal amounts on hand for their race in eastern New York's 19th Congressional district.
Gibson ended the period from June 5 to June 30 with about $1.9 million available while Eldridge had about $2.2 million.
The reports show Gibson raised about $462,000, including $136,000 from PACs, and spent about $33,000.
Of $608,000 raised by Eldridge, about $49,000 came from PACs and $375,000 from personal funds. Eldridge, who is married to Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes, has self-funded his campaign with a total of $1.34 million so far. He reported spending $74,000 during the reporting period.
The district includes Columbia, Delaware, Greene, Otsego, Schoharie, Sullivan, and Ulster counties and parts of Broome, Dutchess, Montgomery, and Rensselaer counties.
