ST. ALBANS, Vt. -

On Thursday, 17 Vermont dairy farmers found out they're getting big grants to improve their farms.

In total, $384,000 will be given out. Among them is the Sizen Family Farm in Georgia.

They're getting $40,000 for a new barn with robotic milking machines. It's an investment, they say, will help secure their farm's future.

"It's going to be easier on us. We're all getting older, we're all getting more sore," said Sizen.

Funding comes from Ehrmann Commonwealth Dairy with some matching funds from the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board and a private foundation.
