Training for veterans wanting to start a business

Posted: Updated:

COLCHESTER, Vt. (AP) - The Small Business Administration is holding a free training program in Vermont for service members and veterans who want to learn about starting a business.

The two-day Boosts to Business course will be held on Saturday and Sunday at Camp Johnson in Colchester.

Chris Herriman, the veterans' business officer for the SBA Vermont district office, says the training is about showing service members that they have attained invaluable skills in the military that make them suitable to run a variety of businesses.

He says there are more than 7,000 veteran-owned businesses in Vermont.

The two-day training sessions will cover economics, financing, market research, developing a business plan and more.

To register, call 802-828-4422 extension 206 or email chris.herriman@sba.gov.
