CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - The legal fight will continue over a nearly-20-year-old lease a ski area operator signed with the state of New Hampshire for land around the Mount Sunapee Resort.
That's despite a judge's ruling last week that state park land adjacent to a proposed ski area expansion should be included in the lands held by The Sunapee Difference company.
Sunapee owns private land on the other side of that slice of the park so the public land became a "buffer zone" between land it leases and land it owns.
The company wants to expand the ski mountain by adding a lift and four trails. Opponents of the expansion say the company wants the buffer zone removed so it can build condominiums on the private land and connect it to the ski mountain.
