Mountaineers ride momentum into break

MONTPELIER, Vt. -

The Vermont Mountaineers entered Sunday's NECBL All Star Break on a six game winning streak.  That includes a thrilling 5-4 win over North Adams Saturday night at Montpelier Rec. Field. At 21-10, the Mountaineers have a two and a half game lead on Sanford for first place in the Northern Division. Everything seems to be clicking at just the right time with just 11 games left in the regular season.

"We're rolling. We're rolling pretty good," Mountaineers pitcher, Cameron Sorgie said after Saturday's win. "This is my second summer back here.  Last summer ended on a sour note.  We got knocked out in the semifinals, but we're on a mission.  We're here to play and we're going to win that championship."

"We definitely know there is something special brewing with this team and we're not looking to end the season,"  Mountaineers infielder, Casey Rodrique said.  "We'll do our part this season and look for the postseason."
