SHELBURNE, Vt. -

Police have released the name of the toddler from Shelburne who died Tuesday.

Aiden Haskins, 2, was reported unresponsive at a home on Hunters Way off Route 7 Tuesday morning. Police say Aiden's mother's boyfriend, Michael Blow, 26, was caring for the boy when police were called. The toddler died at the hospital.

Investigators immediately called the case suspicious, but said there was no obvious cause of death. They are awaiting the results of an autopsy.

There was reference to the child's death Wednesday morning at a legislative hearing on child protection, but state officials would not confirm whether the Department for Children and Families was ever involved with this child.
