GREENSBORO, Vt. - Police in Hardwick say they've arrested a man for stealing jewelry from a Greensboro gallery.

The Miller's Thumb was burglarized July 27. Dozens of the gallery's most valuable pieces were stolen in the break-in. The haul was estimated at over $100,000, and included at least 60 rings and many earrings designed by Marian Stegner.

Now, police have arrested Andrew Cushing, 61, of South Burlington. He's charged with possession of stolen property. Investigators say Cushing sold some of the stolen jewelry to a Burlington business earlier this week. Some of the items were recovered. Police also searched a room at the Anchorage Inn in South Burlington and Cushing's vehicle.

The case is still under investigation and police say expect to make more arrests.

Cushing is due in court Sept. 2.
