Injured teen rescued on Mount Philo

CHARLOTTE, Vt. -

A rescue on Mount Philo in Charlotte.

A teenage girl hurt her ankle about 200 yards off the Devil's Chair trail. First responders had to hike in to get her.

With hiking season in full swing, they're warning people to pay attention to their footing and watch out for loose rocks. Rescues like this are becoming more common.

"This was and is a regular occurance here at Mount Philo. We come here two, three, four times a year and we train for it and we practice for it. And things went very well," Charlotte Senior Firefighter Rob Mullin said.

It took rescue crews about an hour to get her out of the woods.

We're told her family took the girl to the hospital to get checked out.
