Vt. mom denies leaving tot home alone

Posted: Updated:
BARRE, Vt. - A Barre mom is denying charges that she left her 2-year-old home alone while she was off committing a crime.

Barre police say Mia Boudreau, 33, was allegedly part of a burglary at a home on Brook Street Thursday morning.

It took police five hours before they found the toddler naked and in the fetal position shaking on a couch.

Authorities say Boudreau has a history with the Department for Children and Families, and the child is now in DCF custody.

Friday, Boudreau pleaded not guilty to child cruelty, burglary and trespassing charges. She was held on $2,500 bail.
