Burlington College students, faculty call for president's removal

Posted: Updated:
BURLINGTON, Vt. - The students, faculty and staff of Burlington College are calling for the removal of the school's president.

WCAX News has learned the college's student union, as well as its faculty and staff council, recently issued votes of no confidence in president Christine Plunkett.

The groups allege Plunkett has misled the school community, failed to fund-raise, and they say she does not have the capacity to lead the school out of its financial crisis.

The letters are addressed to the college's board of directors and indicate half of those employed by the school have left in the last year.

Neither the communications director nor the chairman of the board responded to our requests for more information.
