GRANVILLE, N.Y. - Two people are dead after a crash in Granville, New York.

A witness told police that seconds before the crash, a car driven by 28-year-old Adam Devino of Poultney passed her on a hill in a no passing zone, and then hit another car head-on.

That vehicle was operated by 20-year-old Mollie Loftie of Wells, Vt.

Washington County Sheriff Jeffrey Murphy says crews were dispatched to the two-car crash on County Route 25 at about 5:15 a.m. Friday. They found one car engulfed in flames and both vehicles had heavy front end damage. Both drivers were alone in their cars and both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say one of the cars was a 2003 gray Dodge Intrepid, the other was a 1991 red Chevrolet Camaro.
