Police: Barre storage garage fire was arson

Posted: Updated:
BARRE, Vt. - Police say a blaze that destroyed a Barre storage garage was arson.

Fire crews were called to 17 Farwell Street just before midnight. They found the structure fully involved when they arrived.

No one was in the building and no one was injured. Damages are estimated at about $100,000.

Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set. Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call the Arson Tip Line at 1-800-32-ARSON or Barre City Police.

It's the second act of arson involving a storage building in Barre this month. The old train depot burned two weeks ago.

Police say the property is owned by Mike and Cheryl Buzzi, who used the building as storage for Buzzi's Garage, a nearby auto repair business.
