DURHAM, N.H. (AP) - A new poll shows U.S. Rep. Carol Shea-Porter in tight races with her challengers in New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District, while Rep. Annie Kuster is in a tight contest with one challenger in the 2nd District.

The WMUR Granite State Poll shows Shea-Porter, a Democrat, in close races with Republican Frank Guinta, who previously held the seat for one term, and with Republican Dan Innis. In the 2nd District, Kuster, a Democrat, is in a very tight race with Republican Marilinda Garcia and a close contest with Gary Lambert. She's ahead of Jim Lawrence.

The telephone poll of 827 adults was conducted Aug. 7-Aug. 17 by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center and had a margin of error of about plus or minus 4 percentage points in each district.
