DUXBURY, Vt. - A new world record Sunday in Duxbury for the longest pinewood derby track.
About 200 people and 50 pinewood derby cars showed up to race at Crossett Brook Middle School on a 600 foot-long track. It was the brainchild of local Cub Scout leader Rene Churchill, who wanted to get into the Guinness book of World Records. To qualify, at least one car would need to make it from top to bottom. The track was steep and fast, but three of the cars kept their wheels on the wood to cross the finish line.
