Gov. Peter Shumlin will officially kick off his campaign for re-election Sept. 9.
The Democrat is seeking his third two-year term.
He's made no secret he is running and has raised over $1 million for his campaign. But Shumlin refuses to engage his opponents until after Labor Day. His main opponent this year is Scott Milne, who won this week's Republican primary.
Friday, Shumlin's campaign announced he hired a former member of his communications staff, Scott Corriel, to be his campaign manager.
