Eddie Hockenbury's two out blooper to left scored Brendan Lahue to give South Burlington a 2-1 win over CVU in 10 innings on Wednesday afternoon at South Burlington High School.
The game was postponed last Thursday due to darkness tied 1-1 after nine innings.
Both teams had chances to score in the ninth inning. The Redhawks loaded the bases with two out, but South Burlington pitcher, Patrick McMackin, got out of the jam getting a fly ball out to right field.
South Burlington got a runner to third with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning. CVU pitcher Sam Mikell threw a wild pitch. Rebles runner, Henry Cunningham, tried to score, but the Redhawks recovered the ball quikly and Mikell was able to tag out Cunningham at the plate to keep the game going.
After a quiet top of the tenth inning, Lahue was hit by a pitch with one out in the bottom of the tenth. Lahue stole second setting up Hockenbury for the game winning hit.
