On Saturday the Spartans men's lacrosse team will face New England College in the North Atlantic Conference Championship for the fourth consecutive season, as the two teams battle it out on Saturday evening at 7 pm in Spartan Stadium. The Pilgrims are the only NAC opponent to beat Castleton over the past four seasons and have done it three times, one of which was last year's NAC Championship in Spartan Stadium. This year the Spartans look to avoid that fate as they enter the title game on a six-game win streak and unbeaten against conference competition.
"Our coach will put in a good game plan for us to use," Castleton attacker, Zach Davidson said. "It's exciting. We definitely have some momentum going into the championship game."
Castleton looks to capture its fourth straight North Atlantic Conference Title this Saturday at 4:30 pm when it hosts the second-seeded Thomas Terriers in the championship game at Spartan Stadium. The Spartans head into the matchup with a 14-game winning streak after tying the program record with its 15th victory of the season in the 18-5 semifinal victory over Husson. In that contest, the hosts scored 12 consecutive goals to put the game away, as Brianna MacKay and Kate Auer provided a collective nine goals and three assists to advance to the championship stage.
"Honestly, I think we're ready to go." Castleton attacker, Brianna MacKay said. "We're ready to take on anything and face anything that comes our way. We've had close games and we know how to work competitive games and that's how actually we play better."
