MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Arts Council has awarded 46 grants totaling nearly $355,000 to Vermont arts and community organizations and artists.
The grants were given in three categories: cultural facilities grants to enhance, create or expand the capacity of a building to provide cultural activities to the public; project grants for efforts to bring the arts to the center of communities; and creation grants to support the creation of new work by Vermont artists.
The awards include $21,000 to the Peacham library to support the creation of a theater performance space - including audio-visual equipment and theatrical lighting, and $3,000 to the Vermont Shakespeare Company in North Hero to the support the 2016 programming.
