It's a special time of year, when Hannah Hurlbert's sewing machine is going non-stop.
It also happens to be her favorite time of year. "My life kind of revolves around Halloween. My birthday is the 27th of October and it's always been my favorite holiday," Hurlburt said.
She loves it so much she made it into a career, creating costumes based off of Disney characters for her business, The Good Witch. "Colorful, whimsical kind of silly and playful," she said.
Ever since she was small she loved creating her own costumes. She followed that passion and turned it into a successful company. "Everyone has a dream or a fantasy about their alter ego, or something they really want to be, and when someone puts on a costume they can embody that feeling," Hurlburt said.
Hurlbert didn't get cold fins when it came to chasing her fantasy. WCAX featured her 10-years ago making recycled clothing. A lot has changed -- The Good Witch now focuses on costumes and character bathing suits, and Hurlbert has her own shop in Middlebury.
Reporter Gina Bullard: I'm going to take a wild guess and say you're guess is Ariel. Your dream is to be a mermaid?
Hannah Hurlbert: Yes, I love Ariel. She's been an inspiration all my life. I remember my dad trying to tear me away from the Little Mermaid, and now I'm like, yeah, I made a career out of it.
The Good Witch costumes cost between $40 and $250. She's made thousands in the past five years. Aladdin is her best seller.
"When I see a costume being worn I get really excited, like that's what it's all about," Hurlbert said.
Like Sebastian the crab said in The Little Mermaid: "You got your own style, now let it come through. And remember no matter what, you got to be you."
And you can do it with Made in Vermont Halloween costumes.
