Channel 3 Mitten Tree campaign kicks off for 2015

Posted: Updated:

It's an annual holiday tradition at Channel 3-- the WCAX Mitten Tree.

When the cold weather comes, we count on viewers to submit warm winter clothes to assist low-income families this holiday season.

Donations can be made at UPS stores in Vermont, New York and New Hampshire. And you can always drop off the items here at WCAX as well. We are at 30 Joy Drive in South Burlington.

This year we are looking for new or handmade hats, scarves, mittens and socks.

The Mitten Tree Program launched in 2004 and last year sent warm winter clothes to 17 different organizations, including 11 schools, the Boys & Girls' Club, the DREAM Program, Maple Leaf Farm, Safe Harbor Clinic, Vermont Children's Hospital and Project Hope. We received 20,000 items last year. We hope you'll be even more generous this year. Let's try to beat 20,000!
