RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department says a report summarizing the ages of deer taken during the 2015 hunting season is now available on the department's website.
The department had asked hunters to provide a tooth from dead deer and says it was able to get accurate ages from more than 4,000 deer.
Deer project leader Nick Fortin says it's not appropriate to draw conclusions from one year of data, but says the state thinks people are interested in seeing the information.
The report includes information on the age distribution of deer taken in different areas of the state.
