This week, the 6 and 7-year-old Vergennes Giants get to Meet The Monsters.
7-year-old Issac asks, "How's it like being a pro baseball player?"
Lake Monsters pitcher Heath Bowers answers, "It's great being a professional baseball player. Everyday we come to work and we get to play a baseball game. We get to entertain fans and have a lot of fun. It's like being a kid, even though we're adults now."
6-year-old Landon asks, 'What do you do before games to get ready?"
Lake Monsters pitcher Jordan Schwartz says, "I like to listen to music and try to keep calm. I know for me that if I get too riled up before a game, it's not good for me. So, I try not to get too excited, too much adrenaline pumping before I go out there. I try to stay calm, stay cool and keep within myself so I know I can go out and do my job."
6-year-old Liam asks, 'Who is your favorite baseball player?"
Lake Monsters pitcher Dakota Chalmers answers, "There's so many, but I would have to say John Smoltz just because, I grew up in Atlanta watching him pitch against National League East teams and that time it was pretty cool. In the late 90's, he was a grinder. He threw all of his pitches for strikes and went out at the end of his career and closed and was one of the most successful closers of all time. So, a pretty unique guy."
