The Rutland Regional Medical Center is tackling the national obesity issue with an eight-week program aimed at helping participants make healthy changes to their lifestyles and diets.
Workshop leaders will help participants focus on wellness, rather than the concept of dieting. The goal is to help people learn to change their daily habits and how they look at food, with a holistic approach to weight loss.
"We address all the areas of need that someone has, not just to lose weight but to be healthy. We, of course, address food choices, but we also address things like stress in their life and how they're dealing with stress," said Elizabeth Dulli, the community education coordinator.
A pilot session for this program was introduced in the spring. Dulli says they saw great results with gradual weight loss.
