RIO DE JANEIRO -

Putney's Alicia Dana finished fourth in the women's handcycle road race Thursday at the Paralympic Games in Rio, missing out on a second medal in as many days by a matter of seconds.

Dana won silver on Wednesday in the H1-2-3 time trial.  Thursday, she competed in the H1-2-3-4 road race and barely missed out on a medal as the top four finishers were separated by just five seconds.

Germany's Christiane Reppe won the goal with a time of 1:15:56 seconds.  Doyeon Lee of South Korea took silver ahead of Francesca Porcellato of Italy although both posted identical times of 1:15:58, two seconds back of Reppe.  Dana was fourth.  She crossed the line in 1:16:01 meaning she missed out on a medal by just three seconds and a gold medal by a scant five seconds.
