Previewing Patriots vs Texans on Thursday Night Football

FOXBORO, Mass. -

Tonight on Channel 3, The New England Patriots host the Houston Texans for Thursday Night Football.

But the big question remains, who will line up under center for the Pats?

It might be the best job in sports.

"Even now after 11 years I pinch myself, every time I step down here," said Janie Ritchie, fan.

Ritchie is part of the End Zone Militia, which stands just past the endzone and celebrates New England Patriot scores with a real revolutionary musket shot.

Ritchie: I'm going to fire this gun.

Reporter: OK, should I close my ears, what do you think?

Ritchie: Take it like a man.

Reporter: OK, we'll see.

Ritchie: Wow!

The question tonight, is will the militia have much to celebrate.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is serving a four game suspension for his role in illegally deflating footballs.

So, in stepped Jimmy Garoppolo, leading the Patriots to a week one win.

"He was looking like Tom Brady, it was unbelievable," said Ron Chamberlain, fan.

And then Garoppolo was injured in his second game.

Rookie Jacoby Brissett filled in and pulled out a week two win.

So will Garopollo be healthy enough to take the field here just four days after the injury? Like many questions directed at head coach Bill Belichick, that one got an icy answer.

"I'm a football coach, I'm not a doctor. They don't call plays, I don't do surgery," said Belichick.

Every time Belichick verbally abuses a reporter an angel gets his wings

Patriots super fan Jerry Thornton is still sore about the Brady suspension.

But thinks whoever they put under center can handle the Houston Texans defense

"The Patriots are down to their third string quarterback and they're still winning," said Thornton.

Reporter: You afraid you might not be shooting much this game?

Ritchie: Well you never know, do you? There's always magic on this field. There's a lot of magic on this field. These are my boys, they'll be great!
