It's a sight unique to the season and the team from "The :30" had to head out on foot to find it.
Our Keith McGilvery and photographer Tyson Foster hiked into the hills of Bennington County on the search for bats. With help from the folks at Vermont Fish and Wildlife, they made their way to a cave that is home to tens of thousands of little brown bats. When the sun went down, the animals came out, buzzing overhead as part of the fall mating season.
Fish and Wildlife is studying the bats in Bennington County to see how they are beating the odds against white nose syndrome when others have not been able to do it.
