ST. ALBANS, Vt. (AP) - The town of St. Albans is considering a proposal to build a marina at St. Albans Bay.
Two local businesspeople are seeking approval for a 154-berth marina and an 80-space parking lot on Georgia Shore Road.
The St. Albans Messenger reports that the proposal went before the town's Development Review Board this week.
The plan would use a building already on the property for the harbormaster offices, a store and bathrooms for boaters.
Applicant Charles "Chuck" Lowe says the waterfront is always a very important part of a community and "we should be able to be proud of our area."
One landowner raised concerns about whether there's enough interest from boat owners.
An attorney representing the marina says it would draw people from surrounding towns.
