DORSET, Vt. (AP) - Overnight water service has been restored in the southern Vermont town of Dorset after the water supply has been restored to safe levels.
The 200 customers have been told to continue to boil water for at least one minute that is used for drinking, ice making, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.
Dry weather had prompted the water system for the Dorset Fire District last week to shut off its water supply between midnight and 6 a.m. until further notice.
Vermont Public Radio reports that an announcement released Wednesday says several leaks in the system were recently fixed and those, along with several nights of shutting off the water supply, have allowed the springs to restore the reservoir to safe levels.
