On Saturday, Middlebury College senior, Rob Cone, had the opportunity to serve as a forerunner for the women's giant slalom at the Beast World Cup. Cone wore a go pro camera on his helmet as he was the second one down the Superstar course Saturday. That Go Pro video was used on the broadcast later that day.
"It was great to be the second one down there," Cone said. "They wanted me fro the forerunning so I could tell them how the course is running, how the snow is working out and just really how the course is set and let them know it's safe and good to go for this World Cup."
Cone, the 2015 NCAA champ in the GS, is a Killington native.
"It's pretty special to have this event here, because it's good to see the energy that the Europeans bring to my home hill and home trails," Cone said. "It's special and hard to describe, but it's just neat."
