New contract gives Vt. court workers a raise

Posted: Updated:

Vermont court workers will get a pay raise under a new contract settled Wednesday.

The Vermont State Employees Union says it reached a deal with the Vermont Judiciary after 11 months of negotiations. The union had been waging a public campaign in support of the 175 docket clerks and court officers. They say those positions had seen a 25 percent turnover rate because of low pay.

The VSEA is not yet releasing details of the agreement, pending a ratification vote by the judiciary.
