In The Kitchen On The Weekend: Mom's Blonde Brownies

BURLINGTON, Vt. -

Mom's Blonde Brownies

2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup butter
2 cups light brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 package chocolate chips (semi sweet or milk chocolate)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt

Melt butter in a saucepan
Remove from heat
Mix in brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of HOT water
Cool mixture

Once cooled, stir in eggs and vanilla.
Add flour mixture and stir

Spread in greased 9x13 pan
Sprinkle chocolate chips on top

Bake for 35 minutes, don't overbake (That's what my Mom said!)
