Is lead lurking in your children's blood? A new study reveals kids are not being tested enough for elevated lead levels in their blood stream.
Researchers say 1.2 million children were estimated to have elevated blood levels from 1999 to 2010. Only half those cases were reported to the CDC. And of those cases not reported, more than 300,000 of those children had never been tested.
Lead exposure can lead to brain damage, behavioral issues and other problems.
The study was published in the journal Pediatrics.
