The Big Green have elected their captains for the 2017 football season, with quarterback Jack Heneghan, safety Kyran McKinney-Crudden, and defensive end Jeremiah Douchee getting the nods. The selections were revealed at halftime of Saturday's Green & White game.
Heneghan was one of the top performers in the game, unofficially throwing for 218 yards and a touchdown. Receiver Hunter Hagdorn had five catches for 51 yards and a score while tight end Cameron Skaff had five receptions for 52 yards.
After a disappointing 2016 campaign, the game, and the spring overall, have provided an opportunity for the team to get back out on the field as they work toward the fall.
"Well, guys progressed," said head coach Buddy Teevens. "Great work ethic and mindset, a lot of energy and enthusiasm, a lot of inexperience, but great competition at a variety of positions. I thought we improved as a team, but we still have a lot of work to do until we open up with Stetson."
"I think this spring has been extremely competitive," added Henneghan. "Guys are getting after it and guys are really excited to get back out on the field in the fall. It felt like the spring flew by, I think because we were all playing so hard with so much energy, so that's always great to see."
Dartmouth opens the season September 16th in Deland, Florida against Stetson.
