Drake Hull withstood hard charges from Troy Evans and Bryson Richards to win his first Vermont Amateur championship Thursday at the Dorset Field Club.
Hull, playing out of the Rutland Country Club, was the only player under par in all four rounds, closing with a two under 68 to finish at seven under for the tournament.
Country Club of Barre's Evans had the low score of the tournament in Thursday afternoon's final round, a six under 64, but finished two shots back at five under. Richards, also representing Barre was three under in the final round and finished at four under par, three shots off the pace.
Day one leader Jared Nelson of Rutland was the only other player to finish under par at one under, with day two leader, and 2015 Vermont Am champ, Alex Rainville rounding out the top five at one over par.
