Johnson, Vermont - May 25, 2006
Three separate power outages effected groups of Vermont Electric Co-op customers across northern Vermont Thursday night. The lights went out around 8:30 PM for about 1,000 customers in Franklin Country. VEC officials say it was caused by an equipment failure at a substation and they expected to have it fixed before midnight.
About 90 customers in Orleans County also lost power. Line crews were still trying to track down the cause of that outage late Thursday night. And a section of Williston lost power for a short time Thursday evening due to an equipment malfunction. That outage is over.
