East Poultney, Vermont - July 26, 2007
A Poultney man was killed in a hit and run accident.
Police say 74-year-old Paul Delorenzi was walking across a bridge on Thrall Road when he was hit by a pickup truck. Delorenzi was pronounced dead at the hospital.
With the help of witnesses, police tracked the Toyota pickup suspected in the accident to a home in Middletown Springs. There they arrested 21-year-old Brent Poczobut of Poultney.
He's now charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
