MIDDLEBURY, VT --- The Middlebury men's hockey team showed they will be a force to be reckoned with this season after a 3-2 win over top ranked Plattsburgh Friday night at Chip Kenyon Arena.
The Panthers, now 4-2-1, came into the game ranked 13th after some early season struggles. They took a 1-0 led on a goal by Mickey Gilchrist midway thru the first, then made it 2-0 less than three minutes into the second when Ken Suchoski netted a shorthanded goal, his first of the year.
Bryan Curran would light the lamp with the game winner just over a minute into the third period.
Plattsbrugh, now 11-2, made it close late when Tom Breslin and Riley Hill scored in the final two and a half minutes with the Cardinal goalie pulled for an extra attacker.
