BURLINGTON, Vt. - Junior Amy Rosenkrantz scored a game-high 20 points to lead four Vermont Catamounts in double figures as UVM cruised to a 78-41 victory over visiting Colgate in the final non-conference game of the season at Patrick Gymnasium.
The Catamounts improve to 9-4 overall and have won 19 non-conference games in the past two seasons. Colgate falls to 1-14 and extends its losing streak to 10 games.
Vermont opens America East play next Saturday at Stony Brook.
"It's really important to focus on ourselves and never let down," said UVM head coach Sharon Dawley. "In the past when we've gotten a 12 point lead there was a decrease in intensity and it's really important that we not allow ourselves to do that."
"As post players we're starting to get on each other more about not just making moves but finishing plays, rebounding, getting the ball out quick, pushing the ball up the floor, added Vermont Forward Alissa Sheftic. "Today was a great confidence booster to help with that so we can move forward to play Stony Brook."
