BURLINGTON, VT --- Coming off back-to-back league losses, the UVM men's hoop team knows they have to step it up in a lot of areas as they prepare to host UNH Saturday afternoon at Patrick Gym.
"We need to guard better.", said captain Kyle Cieplicki. "That's just something we haven't been able to do. It's just something we'll have to continue to work on. If we're not gonna guard we certainly can't have drought like we did against UMBC cause we'll get blown out."
"We're a very inconsistent team right now.", said head coach Mike Lonergan. "We're much better at home but we have had our struggles defensively which is really disappointing but we've got a long way to go. Just when I thought we were getting better we had a couple tough losses in a row. Hopefully we'll bounce back being at home."
New Hampshire brings a familiar face with them to Patrick, former Burlington High star Tyrone Conley. Conley is having an outstanding freshman season with the Wildcats. He's averaging just under nine points a game and has started eight times for a 4-10 UNH squad that's going through growing pains.
"I think we're strong, we just need to come out strong in the 1st 5 minutes of a game and try to finish strong.", said Conley. "We got a lot of talent, we're young so we have a lot of time to work together and grow."
