Girl Scout Selling Cookies Robbed

Savannah, Georgia - January 15, 2008

Well that's the way the cookie crumbles...

A Girl Scout in Georgia was robbed while selling cookies, but it didn't take police long to track down the suspect. They say the 12-year-old girl wrote her name and address on the cookie order form before the theft.

Nicole Grant, 10, was selling cookies Sunday when a girl ordered cookies from her, then grabbed Grant's bag with $28 in cookie money and took off on a bike.

"She's still a little shook up, but she's fine," said the scout's father, Chris Grant.

Police tracked down the suspect using the order form she filled out. The Girl Scout later identified her as the thief.

The young suspect reportedly denied stealing the money. But she was arrested and faces a juvenile charge of robbery.
