BURLINGTON, Vt. - Sophomore Courtnay Pilypaitis scored a 17 of her game-high 22 points in the second half and led five UVM players in double figures as Vermont cruised to an 82-62 victory over Maine in America East women's basketball action on Saturday at Patrick Gymnasium.
The Catamounts extend their win streak to four games, the longest of the season, and have won six of the last seven contests. Vermont improves to 14-5 overall and sits atop the America East standings with a 5-1 league mark. Maine falls to 5-13 overall and 2-4 in the conference.
"We came in with the goal of having 4 wins after this and we did so it felt good to really accomplish our team goals for the past couple weeks," said Pilypaitis. "We got a lot of momentum going onto the road."
"Not that the pressure is off," added head coach Sharon Dawley. "Obviously we want to win road games as well, but it's imperative that you take care of business at home which we did."
