BURLINGTON, VT -- After missing the event last season, the UVM baseball team is back in the America East Tournament.

The first challenge for the 4th seeded Catamounts, a showdown with number one Binghamton tomorrow at noon. The BearCats won three of four from Vermont in a visit to Centennial earlier this month.

"We're anxious to play them again.", says head coach Bill Currier. "It doesn't really matter who we match up against, it's what we do and that's the only thing we can control so we're looking to get solid pitching that we've been getting and we're anxious to play again in a tournament situation."

"I'm really excited because they came down here and embarrassed us on our own field, on senior day and fan appreciation day so we're real excited to get down there and see what we can do against them.", adds first baseman Ethan Paquette.

UVM junior pitcher Joe Serafin was named the America East pitcher of the year at the conference awards banquet Wednesday night. The left hander leads the America East with a 2.66 ERA and has thrown a conference best six complete games. Serafin was also a first team all-America East selection. Three Cats, including Rutland's Kyle Massie, made the second team.
