Musical Benefit For Fire Victim

DJ A-Dog DJ A-Dog

South Burlington, Vermont - May 21, 2008

A benefit for a man who lost nearly all his belongings in a fire brought out some of Burlington's best DJs.

Andy Williams, also known as DJ A-Dog, lost his clothing, records and DJ equipment in a fire at his apartment complex on May 1.

His friends held a fundraiser on Wednesday night, at Higher Ground in South Burlington. At least half a dozen DJs spun tunes, including A-Dog.

Burton donated snowboards and clothing to be raffled, and Magic Hat served a special A-Dog brew.

A-Dog said he is doing well since the fire and was amazed to find out the strength and generosity of the DJ community in Burlington.

"Something crazy like this happened and I'm having a hard time even being able to be sad," he said. "There's so much support in Burlington. I'm overwhelmed."

All of the money from the door and the raffle was donated to A-Dog. His mother even made it down from Saint Albans, to see him spin for the first time in years.
