Police say 18-year-old Phillip Starkey, of White River Junction, was driving his minivan on North Bayley Hazen Road late this morning, when he lost control. The van traveled across the roadway and hit a tree head-on.

Starkey and one other passenger, Brian Boardman, were transported to Cottage Hospital with unknown injuries. A second passenger, Jeremy Darling, was transported by helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with serious head injuries.
