Man Sentenced For Role In Overdose

Burlington, Vermont - July 28, 2008

Prosecutors in Vermont hope an overdose case will send a message.

They say Phat Nguyen, of Minnesota, supplied 30-year-old Daniel Bendz with Oxycontin. They say the Hinesburg man was celebrating his birthday, drank a lot of alcohol and took two or three tablets. Bendz died from an overdose.

Nguyen was sentenced to nearly three years in jail.
