Authorities in Texas have ended their search for a key piece of evidence in the murder of Brooke Bennett.
The FBI had been sifting through a landfill in San Antonio, looking for a laptop computer. Police say Brooke's former stepfather, Ray Gagnon of San Antonio, asked a friend to throw his laptop away. Police now believe someone may have taken a safe that contained the computer from a dumpster outside the building.
Investigators think the computer contains evidence in the Brooke Bennett case, along with child pornography.
Gagnon is being held on obstruction of justice charges.
